On November 4th, the all-new Bombardier Global 7000 business jet aircraft conducted its maiden flight, from Bombardier facilities in Toronto, Canada.
It flew for 2 hours and 27 minutes, climbing to 20,000 feet (6,096 m) and achieving its planned test speed of 240 knots.
The Global 7000 will now enter a comprehensive flight test and certification program, and is on schedule to enter service in the second half of 2018.
This is a milestone day for Bombardier. As the C Series airliner successfully enters service, the Global 7000 now begins to prove its capabilities in flight test. Both are all-new aircraft, each unique and poised to lead their respective market segments – so today continues an impressive pattern that is both exciting and important to Bombardier … and also very noteworthy for civil aviation worldwide.
